Roles and Responsiblities

• Coordinates Climate Change research to generate climate scenarios;
• Examines the socio-economic impacts of climate change on vulnerable sectors and communities;
• Develops and assesses climate prediction and impact assessment methodologies;
• Coordinates capacity development of practitioners and users of climate information products and services;
• Coordinates trials of proposed technologies and interventions before adoption;
• Develops Information Management Systems such as databases and portals for data sharing and archiving;
• Liaises with clients and stakeholders on mainstreaming climate change in different sectors;
• Develops, reviews and coordinate climate change policies, plans, adaptation and mitigation strategies;
• Focal Point for all Universities and Research institutions, Meteorological Services and Civil Protection Unit.
